"Why Did I Buy This?" - Ink

Episode 5 of "Why Did I Buy This?" focused on techniques to do with some of our ink types.  Ink is a vital part of the stamping process and here's a few ink pads that  you should consider having in your collection:

• Classic Ink  - this is a fast drying, dye based ink.  It is acid free and safe to use in scrapbooks.  The firm, foam pads last a long time and provide amazing ink coverage.  All classic ink pads have coordinating ink refills in all of our Stampin' Up! colours that are sold separately and can add life back to the pads.  These colours coordinate with all of our cardstock, markers and embellishments.
• Craft Ink - this is a rich, permanent, pigment ink that can be used for embossing or to create an opaque look on dark cardstock. It can also be used on wood, fabric, and other materials.  This ink is also acid free and can be used safely in scrapbooks.
• Versamark Ink - this ink is great for creating tone-on-tone and watermark looks. It appears a few shades darker than the cardstock it's stamped on. Use with embossing powder and a  Heat Tool to create an embossed image.

Here are the projects that I showcased in today's Facebook Live.

The first project uses Versamark as a watermark ink.  Any cardstock that you stamp on, will give you the image slightly darker for a tone on tone look.

The next project that I shared showcased how you can use two colours of Classic Ink and sponge daubers to add ink to the image without muddying the ink pads.  I also applied versamark directly to cardstock to create an embossed sheet that you can use to punch embellishments such as the stars:

For the next project, I used versamark and gold embossing powder to create a gilded edge to the die cut image:

Here we've brought in Whisper White Craft ink to stamp the dragonflies on the Basic Black cardstock.  Pigment ink is great for creating a chalk look on dark cardstock.
