Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Watercolor Pencils

This month, our team is featuring techniques with Watercolor Pencils. I LOVE watercoloring and all of the tools that go along with it!
For this project, I did a couple of different techniques with my pencils.
The first way that I used the water-colour pencils is I coloured directly onto the flower die-cut from the Floral Squares Dies. I used tone on tone blue to create a shadow effect on the flowers.
The other way I used the watercolor pencils is I through a technique I call "watercolor resist." I used the stamp set All Squared Away to stamp the background in Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the blue pencil to colour directly over the embossed image, and then used my Water Painter to blend the colour over the embossed image. All of the areas that weren't embossed will take on the colour.
The final way I used my Watercolor Pencils was to create the splatter background. I coloured my pencils onto scrap paper, then used a Water Painter to create paint and flick it onto the paper to get the splatter look.
