Totally Techniques - Telescoping
Hello my friends! Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I'm Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month our team chooses a technique to feature and we all showcase our version of the projects. This month our technique is called "Telescoping."
I'd never tried this technique before. The basics of telescoping is to have a focal image with concentric shapes. Each layer is adhered at a different height.
There are some incredibly cute designer series paper (DSP) coming out on Sept. 4, 2024, so I decided to use a sheet from the Reindeer Days DSP as my focal point. The Everyday Details Dies have concentric circles built in, so I used that to create the circle layers.
We have a few adhesive products that help to give the different elevations to the circles. The largest circle, I adhered with Multipurpose Glue, the second layer I used Mini Dimensionals, the third layer I used Adhesive strips, and the central circle I doubled my Stampin' Dimensionals to get the height.
This card is a really simple "fancy fold" that allows for the addition of a gift card. Fold an 8.5" x 5.5" cardstock in half. From the centre fold, cut a 1.25" strip. Adhere that strip to the base of the card, just on the edges so it creates a pocket. Decorate with DSP.
Be sure to hop along with the rest of the team to see more projects using the Telescoping technique!
Have fun crafting!
